Master's programmes


The institute of Health Policy and Management offers 2 initial Master's programmes:

  • Master of science in Health Economics Policy & Law (HEPL)
    The multidisciplinary Master Programme HEPL is designed to provide students with the analytical skills and conceptual knowledge to understand the complexities of health care systems. HEPL has a clear international orientation. HEPL prepares students from all over the world for career positions both in the private and public sector, in international organisations like the WHO, OECD, World Bank and European Union, national and international associations, consultancy firms, insurance companies, sickness funds, medical technology agencies, hospitals, advisory boards, regional health authorities and other government institutions. In addition HEPL will provide students with a solid basis to pursue a Ph.D. in health economics, policy & law.


  • Specialisation Health Economics (Specialisation within master HEPL)
    The aim of this programme is to provide students with a solid basic training in health economics so that they can handle problems that arise in health service decision-making. It will provide graduates with the concepts and tools of economic analysis of health care, including the analysis of the peculiar functioning of health care markets and the economic evaluation of health care programmes and interventions.


  • Master of science in Health Care Management
    This master will only be educated in Dutch.
