Programme

Course dates

April 16 – May 16, 2012.

Students are advised to arrive a few days early to arrange accommodation, finances, an ISS computer account, and to get to know each other and the institute (an introductory meeting will take place on Friday April 13).

Location

Classroom teaching takes place at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague.

Computer rooms are available at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague to work on individual or group assignments and to access the internet / e-mail. 

Programme overview

The programme provides an interdisciplinary perspective on population health and health services in low- and middle-income countries. Teaching Methods

Learning activities include lectures, exercises, case-discussions, self-study and individual or group projects. A folder will be provided with essential and background reading material.

Assessment and Degree

Participants’ knowledge and understanding of the subject matter is tested per block, via a formal examination and/or (individual or group) assignments. Participants in a block receive a formal certificate after completing it successfully.
